Contradiction – Spot The Liar is a unique full-motion video (FMV) detective game where players take on the role of Detective Jenks. Set in a quiet English village, the game revolves around investigating a mysterious death by interviewing quirky locals and uncovering inconsistencies in their statements. Players must use logic and observation to catch lies and reveal the truth.
What sets Contradiction apart is its live-action storytelling and emphasis on contradiction detection. Rather than solving puzzles or exploring vast environments, the gameplay centers on carefully comparing dialogue snippets to expose lies. This makes the experience more about critical thinking and keen listening than traditional gaming mechanics.
Developed by Tim Follin, the game is both an homage to and evolution of classic detective storytelling. With its charming characters, surprising twists, and a touch of British humor, Contradiction – Spot The Liar has earned a cult following among fans of narrative-driven games. It’s a must-try for players who enjoy immersive storytelling and mental challenges.
